How we became the leading pressure-turning company in the Nordic region<\/h2>\n

When we talk to people in the T\u00f6reboda area and ask them about Hermanders, many of them say \u201clamp factory\u201d. Of course it is true that Hermanders made millions of lamps for delivery to firms like IKEA and KF. But the world is changing and so is the market, which has meant in turn that Hermanders\u2019 strategy has also changed.<\/p>\n

Our core business is today metal spinning and advanced sheet forming. It is with joy and pride that we realize that it is just the same basic idea that the company’s founder, Folke Hermansson and Hugo Andersson, founded the company to do in 1951.<\/p>\n

Having developed our core competencies for 70 years gives us as a firm and solid foundation to continue to develop our business. Hermanders AB is well equipped to meet market demands, both within our existing skills and in new areas. Through our investments in the latest machine technology as well as skilled and well-trained staff, we feel that with pride and clarity we can say that we are the leading press releases in the Nordic region.<\/p>\n

Milestones<\/h2>\n

8 Mar 1951<\/h4>\n

Folke Hermansson and Hugo Andersson start up Hermanders Metallindustri AB in the courtyard building where the ICA Supermarket is now located.<\/p>\n

1956<\/h4>\n

Hermanders grows and needs new premises. Folke builds a new factory in Haddeboda.<\/p>\n

1969<\/h4>\n

Haddeboda is too small. In the summer, the company moves to new premises on Industrigatan.<\/p>\n

1 Jan 1979<\/h4>\n

Hermanders and Granhaga merge and change their name to Nordsales Granhaga AB. Folke owns 25 per cent of the shares in the new company.<\/p>\n

1982<\/h4>\n

Folke Hermansson owns Tulles Metallindustri together with his son Jan. When the company is restructured, 25 employees put up the money to become part-owners. The new name of the company is Hermanders AB. The company stays in the same factory that Folke built in 1956.<\/p>\n

Aug 1982<\/h4>\n

Folke, Jan and 25 employees move the company to Granhaga\u2019s former premises, next door to T\u00f6reboda Limtr\u00e4.<\/p>\n

1983<\/h4>\n

Nordsales Granhaga AB files for bankruptcy.<\/p>\n

1989<\/h4>\n

Hermanders AB is bought by T\u00f6reboda Skrotaff\u00e4r and Rolf Severin becomes the new MD.<\/p>\n

19 Nov 1991<\/h4>\n

Hermanders AB files for bankruptcy.<\/p>\n

12 Dec 1991<\/h4>\n

The new Hermanders AB starts up with new owners Jan Engstr\u00f6m and G\u00f6ran Johansson.<\/p>\n

1995-96<\/h4>\n

Jan Engstr\u00f6m buys out G\u00f6ran Johansson to become sole owner of Hermanders.<\/p>\n

1998<\/h4>\n

G\u00e5rdsj\u00f6 Mekaniska is bought up.<\/p>\n

1999<\/h4>\n

Anders Nyman buys into the company as co-owner.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

10 Sep 1999<\/h4>\n

Hermanders buys Axelsson Textilindustri\u2019s factory premises.<\/p>\n

Nov 1999<\/h4>\n

Hermanders moves to Axelsson\u2019s old premises on S\u00f6t\u00e5senv\u00e4gen.<\/p>\n

Autumn 2000<\/h4>\n

Hermanders invests SEK\u00a03.5 million in a new Leico pressure lathe which can take pieces 1,800 mm in diameter.<\/p>\n

2004<\/h4>\n

Hermanders acquires Laio Metall AB in Hovmantorp.<\/p>\n

2004<\/h4>\n

Spinnform AB in Bredaryd is acquired.<\/p>\n

2005<\/h4>\n

Ludvika Metalltryck AB is sold to Hermanders.<\/p>\n

2006<\/h4>\n

Hermanders expands with a new canteen and staff areas and a new conference room.<\/p>\n

2008<\/h4>\n

The company adds a new 700 sqm factory building.<\/p>\n

Winter 2008<\/h4>\n

Laio in Hovmantorp is forced to shut down.<\/p>\n

2010<\/h4>\n

Hermanders adds 500 sqm of warehouse space.<\/p>\n

2011<\/h4>\n

Hermanders celebrates its 60th anniversary.<\/p>\n

2012<\/h4>\n

Jan Engstr\u00f6m becomes sole owner as Anders Nyman retires.<\/p>\n

2013<\/h4>\n

Bemo Press AB in T\u00f6reboda is acquired.<\/p>\n

2015<\/h4>\n

METAB, Metalltryckning i Bredaryd AB is acquired.<\/p>\n

2017<\/h4>\n

Hermanders is acquired by Cality Invest AB.<\/p>\n

2021<\/h4>\n

Hermanders celebrates its 70th anniversary.<\/p>\n
